Lupus is an autoimmune disease that is triggered by an undetermined outside environment. It causes the immune system to attack the immune system. In 2020 I was diagnosed with Lupus after several days of testing in the hospital.
When not treated correctly, this will cause an individual to have intense fevers, coughing, body aches, appetite loss, joint swelling, headaches, hair loss, nausea, vomiting, night sweats, and irregular blood levels.
Starting this tournament is my way of giving back, as I believe a solution to this disease is necessary and no one deserves to go through nagging health issues every day. It has put me in the hospital twice over the past two years, with a couple other short-term flare ups. It has certainly caused me to reduce participation in my passion of chasing fish and hunting waterfowl as well, which is very unlike me to have a lack of energy.
